    Description

This is an Amazing Fresh Vintage Kachina Statue from a long time collector of High End Native American Original and Decorative Arts from here in the Central New Mexico Area.  This Clown Kachina Figure is so expressive and an Amazing Example of American Folk Art.  The piece was made by the well known Pottery Artist Molly Heizer of Santa Fe NM.  It was purchased from her by this family in the early 2000's.  I have some info gleaned from the internet on this amazing highly sought artisan just below.  Her Folk Art works run into the thousands, and I saw a Clown Totem on line that was being sold for near ,000.00.  This Artisan has listed Auction records for pieces close to 1000.00 and none of those were even half as good as this Clown Kachina figure.  Its an Original Piece of Contemporary Folk Art in a form that is highly desired and this museum quality piece is truly investment quality.  It comes on its original Iron stand ( so its heavy) and the condition is amazing.
You may never see another one like this.
    Molly Heizer:
    Native and Natural.
    "
Considered a significant contributor to American folk art Molly Heizer creates ceramic sculptures which pay creative homage to the symbols and characters found in Native American history. Her exploration of the Southwest’s high desert country has led her to a captivating fascination with ancient Indian cultures and their long-held spiritual beliefs. Molly has researched the native civilizations and studied their one-of-a-kind rock art along with the creative displays of their descendants, the Pueblo Indians.   These clay kachinas and animals have been Molly’s life’s work. Her collection, which spans over 40 years, has been so pure of intent and execution that it is considered a contribution to the American Folk Art movement.    Ancient Native American art has always told a story – it has been a creative and oft-beautiful means of expression and communication. Similarly, Molly’s present-day interpretations of the ancient art tell a story. The artist creates folk animals, adorned with designs of the Southwest. She also crafts Kachinas, which she often turns into totem poles that can range from two to ten feet in height.  "
